The Swimming and Water Polo Club holds multiple sessions throughout the week as well as socials, charity events and more

The University of Portsmouth Swimming and Water Polo Club is one of the biggest sports clubs at the University, offering both social and competitive sides. As well as multiple swimming sessions throughout the week, we host socials, charity events and other activities.

If you want to be a part of one of the biggest clubs at the University of Portsmouth to make sure you have the best experience, come and join the swim team.

Give Me Sport

Try out our 32 Team UOP Sports Clubs at Give Me Sport, Thursday 17 - Sunday 20 September. You can try out both casual taster sessions and trials for our competitive teams, with no previous experience needed and no commitment to sign up straight away.

Through your Give Me Sport ticket you can also try out Ravelin Sport Centre's swimming pool and fitness classes.

Club memberships 2026/27

  • Compete: £155

Competitive Club Membership, covering training, coaching, competition entry & equipment. Includes Swim competition and Water Polo competition.

  • Swim and Water Polo Train: £100

Train Swimming and Water Polo Club Membership, covering swim and water polo training, coaching, and friendlies. BUSL & BUCS swimming competition entry not included.

  • Water Polo Compete Top Up: £25

Water Polo Club Compete BUCS Top Up for students selected to compete in the Water Polo BUCS team.

Club memberships for 2026/27 are available from Saturday 1 August.

Please note, for most Compete memberships, you will need to be selected for a team via the club's trials during our Give Me Sport event.

Play Memberships

Lots of our Team UOP Sports Clubs offer Play Memberships, a more casual way to play without committing to a year membership. Most Play Memberships are a one-off payment of £70 for the year (with some exceptions).
