American Football Club

The Portsmouth Destroyers are a high-performing, competitive club open to all

The University of Portsmouth American Football Club, also known as the Portsmouth Destroyers, are a big club and love to compete. The club is open to players of all abilities and coaching is available to teach everyone how to play the game, you just need to be ready to throw yourself into the sport and have a great time.

Please note for some compete memberships you need to be selected for the team. Check with the club first as to which membership type to purchase.

Club membership - 2024/25

  • Full club membership: £145.00

Includes: Training, Transport to away fixtures, Matchday equipment, BUCS Competition entry, Coaching

Training sessions

  • Tuesday 8.00pm-10.00pm: Team Training - Langstone 3G
  • Thursday 7.00pm-10.00pm: Team Training - Langstone 3G

Fixtures

Weekend fixtures will take place at Langstone Sports Site for home games and various facilities for away games throughout the course of the year.

Play Memberships

Lots of our Team UOP Sports Clubs offer Play Memberships, a more casual way to play without committing to a year membership. Most Play Memberships are £65 for the academic year (with some exceptions).

Competitive sports are bound by specific policies governed by the sport's National Governing Body which may be less inclusive. Please find below inclusion guidance for our club.
