Ravelin Sports Centre opened to students, staff and members of the public in 2022. An outstanding new £57m public sports centre for you to play, train and compete. Our superb facilities set in historic parkland include a 25m 8-lane swimming pool, 175 station state-of-the-art gym, climbing wall, café and community orchard. Ravelin Sports Centre will be one of the UK’s greenest sports centres aiming to be net zero carbon ready by creating renewable energy, maximising natural drainage and developing biodiversity.
Courses
We offer a range of courses throughout the year from swimming lessons, to climbing and fitness courses all designed to help you learn new skills.
Gym
Our brand new 175-station gym has all the equipment you’ll need while you’re in Portsmouth. Free weights, cardio machines, olympic racks, resistance machines and functional kit. What more could you want?
Swim
Swim between lectures, on your lunch breaks or at the beginning or end of the day. Ravelin Sports Centre is the home to a 25 metre, eight-lane swimming pool with a variable depth floor.
Fitness Classes
We have a great range of classes a week, delivered by fantastic friendly instructors in our three new fitness studios. Have fun with your friends, improve your fitness and all to a great soundtrack.
Climb
Whether you are an experienced climber, or completely new to the sport, our climbing wall at Ravelin Sports Centre has everything a climber could need.
Indoor Sport
Whatever the weather, you can play, train or compete inside Ravelin Sports Centre all year round.
