Before visiting

So, you may be wondering what you need to do before your first visit. There is one thing you can do to make your life easier - download the UOP Sport App before visiting us. Alternatively, if you do not have a smartphone, you can book online. Regardless of the type of membership you have, you will need to book all of the activities in advance (besides the gym), this can be done through the app or online and will ensure that you are able to see the times and availability of our sessions, to avoid wasted trips.

How to access the building

The building is situated in Ravelin Park on Cambridge Road (PO1 2SE). You can enter through the revolving doors on the side of the building that opens up into the park. You won’t need anything to access the reception area, you can simply come straight in. If you are coming by car, we have an underground car park, which you can access through the Museum Road side of the building (please note that there are limited spaces and there will be a charge to park, unless you are a public member, in which case you can park for free for an hour and a half.)

Accessibility has been carefully implemented into the design of the centre, there are lifts from the car park to the centre as well as to each floor. Every area of the centre is wheelchair accessible. If you would like to find out more information on the accessibility of Ravelin Sports Centre, you can on our website.

What to do on your first visit

When you first visit Ravelin Sports Centre, you will need to go to reception, where a member of our team will be able to activate your student card, give you a wristband or an RFID sticker which can be stuck on the back of mobile phones. These will provide you with access to all of the areas of the centre relevant to your membership. It really is as simple as that!
