The University of Portsmouth is proud to be bold, not old. We have embraced change to create a new breed of university, where collaboration and partnership underpin the way in which we work.
Thank you for your interest in working for UOP Sport at the University of Portsmouth.
The University of Portsmouth is a place where both staff and students achieve great things. We have grown our global profile, strengthened and broadened our research and innovation, enhanced our students’ experience, particularly in preparing them for the world of work, and developed our role within the city and the region. In 2020, we launched our ambitious Vision and Strategy which will build further on this success.
The University of Portsmouth has a long-held commitment to sport and has invested £57million in a major new sports facility, Ravelin Sports Centre, which opened in September 2022.
Ravelin Sports Centre has doubled our UOP Sport staffing with over 40 new roles created to support 1 million visitors each year. It’s an incredibly exciting time to be joining UOP Sport with a range of roles available. Our ideal candidates will be real team players, willing to go the extra mile to get the job done, deliver exceptional service and produce a high level of work. We don’t just look at qualifications, we look at personality, the right culture fit, passion and experience.
Through a strong partnership with our academic School of Sport, Health and Exercise Science and Students’ Union, we deliver a range of services that enable our students, staff and the community to Play, Train and Compete within a broad spectrum of sport and activity to support their physical and mental wellbeing, personal development and competitive aspirations. Over 3500+ students are members of Team UoP sports clubs each academic year. Much like our clubs, we have high aspirations in delivering sport and physical activity to the university community to provide them with the tools they need to succeed.
If you are interested in developing your career at a forward-thinking, ambitious University with a real commitment to our students’ wellbeing and experience, we very much look forward to hearing from you and having you on our team.
Best wishes
Paul Tilley
