New booking, joining and account system coming 24 April

If you’ve been with us a while, you’ll know our joining platform is old and outdated, particularly if, like most people, you joined on mobile. Clunky, old and unintuitive are words some people have used to describe it previously. Our bookings system has had a more recent facelift, but it could also be quirky and difficult to find what you’re looking for. 

If you’ve been with us a really long time (Larry, we’re looking at you), you’ll remember when we had to make a membership card for you using a passport photo and a laminator and queues were going out the door at the start of term - just to join. Both the booking system and the joining system have served us so well over the years with online joining and booking, helping customers get access quickly and without the need to queue.

The great news is that is all changing on Thursday 24 April. We’re moving to our upgraded platform, designed mobile-first and updating all those quirks and frustrations from the old version. Once the new system has launched, you will see a new online booking system if you book a session via the website. Booking through the app will look the same as usual. The process for signing up for a membership also has a fresh new look, just follow the steps to select your membership.

Go Join:

Membership options can now be viewed simply and clearly, with the options for your membership category easy to see. You can get a clear idea of all the options available to you, what is included and when you can access us and select a membership based on your needs.

Your account - serve yourself

We all miss payments from time to time so with an upgrade to your account, you can avoid the hassle of waiting at the front desk and settle debts from your personal online account space. You can save several payment methods to ensure your access (and your gains) aren’t disrupted.

Update Your Password on Monday 14 April

To ensure your access is seamless, we need all members to update their account password to increase the complexity (if you don’t already have a complex password).

You will need your member ID to do this, this will be emailed to you on Monday 14 April.

Your new password must be at least 8 characters long and include:

  • One uppercase letter
  • One lowercase letter
  • One special character
  • One number

Once updated, please sign out of the UOP Sport app and sign back in. This won’t affect your app experience—just a quick step to update your account. If you do not change your password before this date - you will be prompted to change your password to a secure one the next time you log in.

Please do not attempt to change your password before 10am on Monday 14 April. A reminder will be sent to all our customers when the new password rules have been applied.

 

Go Book:

Look first, details later. Find the activity, find the time and book - it’s as simple as that. If you’re logged in, the process is seamless and as easy as booking via the app. If you need to pay for bookings, you can save payment methods to save yourself from entering your card details each time. If you’re not a member, registering for an account is easy and gets you in quickly and pain-free.

Filter your search for activities or days. Easily search and filter by activity type, with real-time visibility into available spaces. Everyone has that one court or pitch they prefer - you pick, pay and play on your favourite one effortlessly. If your favourite class is fully booked, sign up for an alert. We’ll keep you in the loop and allow you to grab an opening the moment it comes first - the fastest finger gets the spot.

At the moment, Family swim bookings are frustrating for you and us - it’s not simple and it should be. Add children or linked people to bookings easily - when booking a family swim, you can now add your family to the booking. It will be a game-changer. You’ll be in that pool before your goggles even think of fogging up. 

Better still, if you’re booking multiple classes and activities, fill up that basket to the brim and check out once whether you’re a member or not.

Up in the clouds, but driven by you.

We’re making the change to this new system because, well, you deserve the best and we want to supply it. You’re at the forefront of each touchpoint, with accessibility as a priority. The journey is what it should be - browse first, choose and then book. The upgraded system will be cloud-native, which means enhancements, bugs, and fixes can be applied instantly without disrupting your bookings.

What do I need to do?

All you need to do is enjoy the new experience, but you will need to ensure your password is complex before you log in for the first time. All of your data stays in the same secure database, so you don’t need to do anything.
