An outstanding new sports centre for you to play, train and compete in, opening 2022.

Ravelin Sports Centre, in the centre of Portsmouth, opens soon. Be inspired to reach your potential and achieve your best in one of the UK’s greenest sports centres. Swimmers will have views from the pool of the natural green spaces outside, creating the feeling of open-air swimming in the park. The climbing wall, rising up through the centre of the building, from basement to roof, will set the challenge. A workout in the gym, virtual skiing or class with friends aided by the latest sports science technology will keep you on track. This facility is aiming to be net zero carbon ready and has received a top rating of ‘Outstanding’ from BREEAM UK, the world’s leading sustainability assessment for buildings. Pool water is re-used for toilet flushing and a new community orchard is part of a sustainable drainage system. Rooftop beehives and a wildflower amphitheatre events space will develop biodiversity in the surrounding areas.

Our 175 station gym will be the base for all your fitness needs, with top of the range Technogym equipment connecting your workout whether you want to Play, Train or Compete you can reach your goals at Ravelin Sports Centre. With so many activities and services on offer Ravelin Sports Centre students, staff and the community can exercise in a world-class fitness facility in the heart of Portsmouth.

Flagship competition terms and conditions

  1. The prize draw is open to all UK residents aged 18 years or over, except employees of the University of Portsmouth and Portsmouth City Council. Only 1 entry per person. Proof of age may be requested.
  2. The prize draw is free to enter and no purchase is necessary.
  3. The prize is a single Annual Ultimate Membership for Ravelin Sports Centre.
  4. All entries are submitted by completing the online form above. The closing date is 30 September 2021.
  5. The University of Portsmouth accepts no responsibility for entries not successfully completed due to a technical fault, technical malfunction, computer hardware or software failure, satellite, network or server failure of any kind.
  6. The winner will be chosen by random draw performed by a computer process on 6 October 2021 and notified by email or telephone (using details provided at entry) within 7 days of the prize draw taking place.
  7. If a winner does not respond to the University within 21 days of being notified, then the winner's prize will be forfeited and the University will be entitled to select another winner in accordance with the process described above.
  8. The prize will be sent to the winner within 14 days of being notified of their win.
  9. The prize for the winners are non-exchangeable, non-transferable and no cash alternative is offered.
  10. The winner's surname can be obtained from the Department of Sport and Recreation within 2 weeks of the prize draw date by emailing sport@port.ac.uk.
  11. The University of Portsmouth Department of Sport and Recreation will collect personal information from entrants in order to administer the draw. This data will be kept for 180 days after the closing date and then securely disposed of. All entrants will also be given an opportunity to opt in to receive future information from the Department of Sport and Recreation about their facilities, services and programmes in accordance with GDPR.   12. The decision of the University of Portsmouth regarding any aspect of the prize draw is final and binding and no correspondence will be entered into about it. The University reserves the right to refuse entry, or refuse to award the prize to anyone in breach of the Rules or the Terms and Conditions or the spirit of the Rules or the Terms and Conditions.
  13. The University reserves the right to withdraw this offer or to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without notice.
