A second lockdown forces us to close our doors to members once again

We’re sure you will have seen the recent announcement that England will be going into a second national lockdown on Thursday. The announcement highlighted that Universities will remain open, however, based on existing government guidelines this does not include our gym, indoor sports facilities and our outdoor sports facilities for recreational purposes.

We will therefore be closing at 10pm on Wednesday 4 November for the new lockdown period unless we receive an explicit exemption from the government in the next few days. We will of course communicate without you throughout this period  and review our position and what services we can or cannot offer and to whom. Naturally, we’ll update you about reopening plans, help you to stay active and offer online services throughout this period.

In terms of your gym membership, you will not pay for your membership while we are closed and we have frozen all memberships.

All sports club physical activity including training sessions, strength and conditioning, friendlies and trials will cease on Wednesday 4 November, 10pm and any future sessions cancelled. Please speak to your club for specific online support during this second lockdown.

Exercise is vitally important for both your physical and mental wellbeing and keeping your immune system firing on all cylinders during lockdown is important, especially at this time of year. We'll be delivering live classes next week, follow our Facebook page for more information. You can also access our back catalogue of videos from our previous at-home workouts, over 6-months worth of workouts.

Outdoor exercise is still permitted under the new guidelines and we’d love for you to get involved in our Movember challenge. We challenge you to complete 60km in November by foot or on your bike. You can walk, jog, run or put in some pedal power to get the distance in.

However you decide to get or stay active during the second lockdown, we’ll be with you one step at a time.

We want to thank you for your support throughout our opening, we greatly appreciate your support in staying with us and making our reopening a success.

We hope we can get back in the facilities soon to have a workout in the gym, jump around in a fitness class or get back to training with friends. Stay safe, stay active, look after others and look after yourself.
