We all know being a referee can be difficult at times, but the beautiful game would not exist without them. You've seen the close calls referees make throughout a game of football. This is your chance to make a difference, earn some money and make the right call.

We at the University of Portsmouth are a Referee Hub, we want to raise standards to support the growth of football, and offer pathways for both qualified and unqualified referees. Our Referee Hub focuses on developing a network of highly skilled referees to officiate on a number of leagues at the University, and in the local community.

We’re looking for 10 students who would like the chance to complete the FA Referee qualification free of charge and gain experience (and paid work) officiating on our student and community football leagues.

We're looking for people with the following:

  • Excellent communication skills
  • Decision making skills

  • Patient
  • Passionate about football
  • Looking for a different way to stay active
