UoP Community Football Club
The University of Portsmouth Community Football Club (UOP CFC) offers girls the opportunity to play regular competitive football against local teams. Our student coaches are FA qualified, focused on developing players technically, physically, psychologically and socially.
We have the following teams in our club for 2019/20:
- U11 Girls
- U13 Girls
- U16 Girls
Playing and Training
Training takes place every Thursday during term time, at Langstone Sports Site.
Fixtures take place on Saturday mornings, with the girls’ teams competing in the Hampshire County Girls League.
Membership to the University of Portsmouth Community Football Club is £25 per month, payable by direct debit. This covers training sessions, league and cup fixtures, and your playing kit.
Club coaching philosophy
Our primary focus is to deliver engaging, innovative coaching within a player centred, positive learning environment that our members immerse themselves in. All age groups follow their own specific year round syllabus which enables us to compartmentalise the players learning into distinct learning blocks, with a focus on a particular theme for example 1 vs 1 attacking. All sessions are based on the Football Associations ‘Four Corner’ model our coaches give when planning your daughters technical/tactical, psychological, physical and social development. We firmly believe that every child should have the right to play football and in turn enjoy being able to develop to the level their ambition desires. We aim to support your child in achieving this by creating a positive, fun, safe and player-centred learning environment.
If you would like your child to get involved with the club, please contact Laura Grubb, University of Portsmouth Community Football Club Secretary.
